The 1st, 5th and 9th houses together form the Trikona (trine) – the most auspicious houses in a horoscope, associated with Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu. Even a malefic planet tends to give good results here, and the more strength these houses have, the better.
The three houses describe three generations: the 1st house is you, the 5th house your children and the 9th house your father. So the nature of your father is read from the 9th house and its lord, while the kind of father you will become is read from the 1st house together with the 5th.
